Position Overview

The Senior Environmental Responsibility Specialist is responsible for advancing our environmental sustainability strategy. They will work collaboratively across the co-op to support PCC’s triple bottom line.

Main Job Responsibilities
• Manage social & environmental responsibility metrics program, including collecting and analyzing data to support our triple bottom line
• Lead or provide support for projects related to environmental sustainability initiatives aimed at improving triple bottom line performance like green building certifications (LEED), resource conversation, waste reduction and responsible packaging
• Perform resource conservation audits and analyses in collaboration with local utility companies to identify ways to conserve resources
• Work with our store development team to implement environmental sustainability and green building strategies into our stores
• Develop materials to share our sustainability story, including preparing and writing content for our Co-op Purposes Report
• Support other environmental sustainability projects and efforts as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies or related subject
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant professional experience
• Solid knowledge and experience with business sustainability efforts including tracking and reporting metrics
• Project management experience required
• Background in resource conservation, including energy and utility auditing
• Understanding and experience with LEED and other green building standards
• Experience with sustainability software – i.e., Portfolio Manager and Scope 5
• Must be a self-starting critical thinker, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for food and PCC’s values
• Grocery or retail experience preferred
